What's the matter, Beth? You could offer TES Arena and Daggerfall as (probably) permanent F2Ps, but the generosity stops at Redguard and Battlespire?

I'm just about to finish Battlespire and while it's technically quite a frustrating game, I still had fun (and was able to reach the final level with just one bug that was fairly easy to circumvent). I'm reading through these discussions though, and it's looking kind of bleak. Some business with renaming a sound file, 95% loading bugs, numerous "this quest is unfinishable" threads... should I bother with this at all? Is the GOG version any better (I own both)?...

I'm only able to turn it off in the ini but not lower it in any way.

I`ve already managed to pick up the Glass Bottle without the Game crashing and filled it with Water. But how do I combine the Objects?
