Why doesn't Snufkin go South?
First off, so cool that he got his pipe, I never thought he would! But where does he go during winter in this game universe? In the books and anime he went south, in this game he seemingly just travels a bit away from Moominvalley and lives on campsites troughout winter. I'm curios about why did you creators go with this idea? He's always been a vagabond and traveller, not Lars Monsen (Norwegian game studio knows who I mean😉)

Well, the author of the series is Finnish, and the Moomins live in a Swedish/Scandinavian setting, so even if you "go south" the winters remain very cold wherever you go, especially if you travel by walking...

Lol I know, I live in Scandinavia. It's set in a version of Finland, but still it IS a fantasy version so.. There's a picture of Snufkin in Moominland Midwinter where he walks under the sun in "the warm south".
Anyway this was more of a question for the creators like I wrote, since no one else can really answer why they decided to do it this way..

This depends on how long you are hiking. I just checked Helsinki-Rome by foot takes according to google maps 589 hours. If you walk for 12 hours a day, that would be around 50 days. It Includes a ferry, which I couldn't avoid (the option didn't work), but there should be a way around it. So you walk two months from Finland to the Mediterranean Sea, stay there for four months, and two months back. That should be sufficient for the Scandinavian winter.

For the game, I think, it's a practical reason: they didn't want to make the video too long, so everybody would skip it. I think, they did there quite well, as the seasons change, when the camera passes a tree. Well done for this video!

There's already Moomin games before this one.

There's one on the GBC where you play as Moomintroll.

Hey! Thanks for the question!
Nobody really knows what Tove thought Snufkin would be doing during his travels, it’s a fun little mystery. What we do know is that he enjoys his independence and solitude. He actually does travel south in the game, according to Jansson’s maps, through what she called «The Wild Country». But in the game intro we wanted to make it clear that winter came and passed, so players understand he left in fall, and is returning again in spring. This was the main reason we chose this direction for the video :)
