We have some amazing news for all fans of Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley. From the creators of Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley comes a new adventure based on the wonderful Moomin stories by author Tove Jansson. This time we follow Moomintroll himself, in a cold but cozy winter adventure.

When Moomintroll wakes up early from his winter hibernation, he finds himself completely alone for the first time, in a world he doesn't recognize. The familiar landscape of Moominvalley is covered by the Lady of the Cold’s frosty veil. Initially looking for someone to take care of him and longing to banish winter, the young Moomintroll gradually embarks on a journey into the unknown, learning to forge new friendships and help those in greater need than himself.

• Gone camping: Once again, Moominvalley’s friends and family find themselves in need of Snufkin and his best pal, Moomintroll. Head out on this love-filled adventure with a cast of your favorite characters, and make new friends on a journey sprinkled with puzzles, surprises, and enchanting musical notes.
  
• Pushing the right buttons: Meet the charming yet shy Fuddler and help him on a journey of the heart, exploring the complexities of love and romance as he courts Mymble, Little My’s sister.
  
• Something’s in the air: Nature changes color as Moominvalley welcomes autumn in all its splendor. Witness the rich spectacle of nature beautifully recreated in this atmospheric Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley expansion.

Love is as beautiful as a rose, but the path to winning your beloved’s heart can be thorny. That won’t stop the determined Fuddler from shyly fumbling his way down the path of romance in our Snufkin game’s new DLC, Fuddler’s Courtship. During a camping adventure, Snufkin and Moomintroll learn of the Fuddler’s affection for Mymble, and joyfully and chaotically set out to help Fuddler with his courtship.

Fuddler is a shy and sweet collector of buttons. He lives in a charming tin coffee can and wears a pan for a hat. Fuddler is not very good in voicing his feelings in front of his crush, Mymble, but tries his best to impress her.

Fuddler originally appears in the 1959 Moomin comic “Fuddler’s Courtship,” the story our DLC is inspired by, and it also similarly follows Fuddler’s misadventures in love. So how is he related to other Moomin characters? In our Snufkin game, you’ve met his brother Sniff, who is a bit fearful but also dearly loves his toy dog Cedric! Their father is Muddler, a scatterbrained and anxious fellow with a penchant for collecting. Sniff resembles their mother, Fuzzy, more and Fuddler takes after Muddler.

When adapting this story we focused primarily on the Fuddler’s character and his sweet and clumsy way to go about finding love. As with the main game, the DLC is loosely based on stories and events written by Tove Jansson, but with our own twist and interpretations to make it into a story that works well for a video game. Fuddler and this specific story from the comics has been one of our favorites, but we struggled to find a good way to include it within the main story. It was really hard for us to let it go, so when the main game was finished, we started playing with the exciting idea of having it added as a small addition to the game as a sort of epilogue.

For Fuddler, expressing his feelings is overwhelming - especially when he’s in the presence of Mymble. All matters of the heart aren’t easy, and finding the right combination of words and actions to convey what’s stirring in your soul requires bravery and a willingness to present your most vulnerable insides for inspection. But Fuddler isn’t alone! He has friends by his side, and when playing as Snufkin, hopefully that includes you too💚
