On sale, worth a buy?
Looks great on Youtube but seeing posts about difficulty and the game having been abandoned and can't decide on whether to buy or not.

Ringing endorsement, no replies:steamsad:
Nope. Save yourself the money and keep playing Panzer Corps I.
This is one of the worst rage inducing RNG mechanics you can find in a WWII hex game.

Also, by the looks of how much the devs respond, the game is probably dead.
I bought it before reading the reviews and the forum posts, because it looked really cool and good...and now regret it.
I suppose it can be played by adding the ability to buy forces to try and balance it out...but a big game killer for me, is the ability to level up and regain full strength, which is utterly ridiculous. That and the fact the game seems to no longer be supported...

Thank you for the response, I went ahead and purchased anyway as it does look different to the other turn based WW2 strategy games I have, might get a few hours out of it at least.

Hi smartypants, if you'd checked the dates of the posts and paid attention to the fact it was on sale you might've twigged why I took a punt, have a nice day:steammocking:

I can't even be insulted cause you still aren't adding 2&2 together
Learn to make some kind of sense, because you are just coming across as a troll now, wasn't an insult, more an observation which you've not even addressed in your well thought out response.

Maybe we'll both get lucky and the mods will lock the thread now, it would at least save you from doing any actual thinking.

Cheers:steamthumbsup:
I played over 2 hours so cannot get money back or I would. The timed turns wreck it for me ):

As you will have already seen for yourself, having purchased it, the game is well worth its full price, even more so if you buy it at a discount.
People complain about the difficulty, but it's pretty adjustable. In fact, this game has unique mechanics, very good and different from the rest of the Panzer Corps clones.
It is of course my personal opinion resulting from having enjoyed playing it.
The game is good but indeed very challenging. What I would like is some twiking for more realism. I feel there is no real incentive being in defense. attacker can pick your unit in a hex with 3 combat unit to say destroy your mortar or anti-tank before defeating your infantry
Infantry in town or forest should be harder to defeat.
Personally, as a "war" gamer for the last 50 years going back to Avalon Hill board games, I can state it did not take me long to understand the basic combined arms tactics in this game (and that's what is, not a simulation). I found it very refreshing among even gamier choices such as PG series. Still, I mourn the "never got made" Squad Leader PC game.
