I'm really trying to give this game a chance, but combat is SEVERELY unbalanced. My attacks do hardly any damage despite investing heavily into my offensive stat (INT) and most of the elemental spells are worthless. Meanwhile, enemies in the starting area (after I've already leveled up several times) deal massive damage to me despite wearing heavy armor. Many of them can also move 2-3 tiles in a single turn making it nearly impossible to escape from them. Many enemies also have some kind of ranged attack further amplifying the issue. I try to stun them with the web stuff as the game recommends, but my pitiful damage isn't enough to finish it before they break free.

As a result of all this, I have to rely on hit and run tactics like killing an enemy or two and retreating back to the bonfire to heal which is just tedious. I can't even make it to the next town (which I assume will have better equipment) without dying as I have to contend with numerous tanky enemies. I'll try to keep pushing, but it's not a good first impression.
