If you've seen Turbo Kid, you'll love the game. Has new music and your favorites from the movie. Game plays like if metroid and megaman were put into blender for drinkable water.

Great game, but there's a bug with key remapping: it won't let me change Right Shift to Left Shift.

A rock-solid Metroidvania based on a fun cheesy movie (which you do not have to have seen to enjoy it - but it helps). I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I've enjoyed Metroidvanias in the past, but haven't jived with the unforgiving difficulty and overwhelming complexity of a lot of recent modern entries. This one, however, is extremely forgiving.

There are no penalties for death beyond losing progress up to your last save point, and save points are numerous. The platforming sections are challenging without being overly frustrating (though the hardest jumping puzzles are real doozies). Combat is fun, each of the weapons is useful, and there are consequence-free assist options to give yourself a little (or a lot) of an edge if things get too challenging. The bike mechanic is great and makes for speedy cross-map traversal that isn't monotonous.

Backtracking is very well-handled; enemies only respawn when you die or otherwise load a save, and the map is fully markable if you are forgetful when it comes to impassable areas. The map is entirely open-ended and you can take on the bosses and sections in any order you please. Length-wise, it's not too short but not too long. It took me, a not-that-skilled Super Metroid enjoyer, 21 hours total to 100% the game.
