Mouse input won't allow the platform to move all the way to one side on the Linux version
This happens still when i run the game windowd, lower resolution, fullscreen, disconnect my second screen so i only have one and using X11 and wayland. Forcing the game to use a never Runtime, like 3.0 sniper also didn't work.

It is really frustrating as there are some balls that are impossible to bounce/save because I'm handicapped in moving the platform. And no I don't want to play with a joystick, as this game, as well as the original breakout, was made for snappy and analogue input, the original used a dial. having fixed acceleration just doesn't fit a game like this.

I'm running on Debian 12 with the KDE desktop enviroment.

Happening to me too -- Debian 12 (upgraded "in place" from Debian 11 - same issue in Debian 11), Wayland, Gnome, Atari VCS 800 ("PC mode"). Same game works fine in Atari mode. Tried switching to XOrg, no difference. Changing mouse sensitivity in the game's settings also changes the range of the mouse, making the range smaller.

Using Proton and installing the windows version fixes the issue, but i'd much rather run the native linux port

I found a solution! Choose "Proton 9.0-3" in the list of Proton versions. You get there by right-clicking on the game, then selecting "Properties", then "Compatibility", then ticking "Force use of specific Steam Play compatibility tool." all from memory so the specific wording might not be exactly right.

I also turned off the Steam Overlay, but that didn't make a difference on its own. It might be needed in combination though.
