So I installed it and been playing quite a bit with Libertatis, but again I got the old issue (steam is not clocking hours AND overlay is not working). Any solutions? I cleaned the bat file and everything

Now it will not work. you understood a question? information until June 28, 2020 is not relevant. As i said before - we dont know answer. The game started via arx.bat and this system crash steam overlay.

You sure, the steam overlay has ever worked for this game?

It worked when the startup file was arx.exe, it lacked steam.dll

It has nothing to do with the arx.bat, though. It depends on how arx.exe is compiled. There was a ARX_STEAM macro in the code that activated the loading of steam.dll. In the current version, the macro is not defined and I am not even sure if it was defined in 1.21...

My 200+ hours confirm that everything worked perfectly. Until the last update.

Okay, thanks for the info. Just one last question, you`re saying that before the last update, it was loading the steam.dll successfully?

Sure, just need copy this file in the steam folder, and paste in the game folder.
The game will start. It will be almost impossible to play. But it’s better to put Libertatis, of course.
That's why the developers decided to use the compatibility mode with WIN8

For me, with the GOG game I try to play in 1440p ... but crash. 1080p no crash.
"Unable to create Direct3DDevice object. YYour 3D hardware chipset may not support rendering in the current display mode. Switching to software rasterizer".

And a second "Unable to create Direct3DDevice object. This program will now exit"...

Install Arx Libertatis. Works for me at 1440p.
