Steam Deck

HDMI-CEC Support
Given that a docked Switch supports sending a signal via the CEC pin of the HDMI cable to turn on a TV when the Switch itself is turned on (remotely via a controller's home button, for instance, avoiding the need to also turn on the TV with a separate remote), would it be possible for the Steam Deck to do the same? While it may only be a mild inconvenience, and a toggle between HDMI-CEC and ARC support may be needed to avoid breaking the latter when in use, I think the feature would bring the Steam Deck one step closer to having a true console experience.

While a $40 dongle and custom script is a current stopgap means of implementing such functionality, given the hefty price paid for the Docking Station already, I hope the functionality can be implemented directly with a firmware update at some point.

CEC is possible with compatible dock: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1am67qp/hdmicec_information/

If you own the Steam Deck Dock you can check if it creates `/dev/cec0` file when connected to the TV and tell me if it works :D

I finally got it to work but only with the official Steam Dock. As of now since the CEC is not available in the non dev build, you will need to enable developer mode by clicking the steam button at the bottom, then in general setting option you will need to switch to the beta channel. The beta channel does have CEC options under Display available. You will need to update the steam deck when it asks you to and restart it. I have a Sony Bravia TV connected to my Sony AVR. The AVR has a game input which is where I was connecting the deck to. The issue I had with this dock was it was not displaying well/had issues connecting through the AVR. I finally found out that I can plug the deck directly into the back of the TV HDMI port instead, and the audio will still come through the AVR speakers. The CEC also works perfectly so if your TV is off and you turn on the deck with your controller(bluetooth mode only) the deck wakes up and turns on the TV automatically. Also my TV remote controls the deck as well which is great. So all in all, if you do my steps above it will work.
