Nintendo-style controls reversed in-game when configuring Steam Input
Hello,

Since the recent updates, weird things are happening with Steam Input.

I use Nintendo-style controls by default. I recently started “Heavy Rain” (GOG), and regularly have to adapt the inputs. But when I edit the controls, sometimes, A and B get reversed, as well as X and Y. It’s really confusing, and I have to reconfigure the buttons manually.

I noticed this happening when changing the right stick’s dead zone for some reason. But maybe that’s a coincidence. I can’t really tell.

But when navigating in Game Mode menus, there’s no problem with Nintendo-style controls. Only in-game.

I think the devs need to look into this. Thanks in advance!

Which dev? You will find out there is little agreement between HID.
When navigating in the Deck menus, if you prefer.
And I can confirm this occurs when setting the right stick dead zone…

Oh, I meant “Gaming Mode”.

Anyway, I can confirm that for some reason, when I tinker with the right stick’s dead zone, A and B get reversed, as well as X and Y. This happens precisely when I leave the “Edit layout” menu.

For now, the only workaround I found is to go back to dead zone setting, tune it again and leave the menu. Then the buttons get switched again.
