Hey, got a question before buying: is this game challenging? I see all the cozy aesthetics and bright colours, but can the game be a challenging survival game or it's just not that kind of product?

Aloft celebrates Earth Day and reaches 200,000 Sky Sailors! 🌍

Ahoy Sky Sailors,

Today we celebrate something close to the hearts of everyone at Astrolabe — Earth Day!

As we shared earlier, we have partnered with Cool Earth[www.coolearth.org] to support indigenous communities and protect rainforests. That means that today, by playing the game and watching Aloft streams, you're helping make a difference — in the skies and on the ground.

We are contributing on our side as well! We recently participated in the Earth Appreciation Steam Festival and we decided to donate 5% of our net revenue of that Festival to Cool Earth!

Last but not least, we’ve recently hit a milestone: 200,000 Sky Sailors now soar the skies, making countless worlds better in Aloft! We’re so thankful to have the Aloft community by our side throughout this journey; whether you’ve just joined the adventure or have been soaring the skies with us since the demo days.

Future Combat question

Bought and enjoying the game. Question about combat. Will there be more options for combat into the future? overall its very peaceful and very lite on combat. Would be a great reason to build a fortress on the Island and then have other islands or creatures attack it. Or even the fungus will grow to all the island if not kept in check by the players Thank you...

going through storm/asteroid belt feels too punishing but...

Is the point here that the game wants you to have multiple islands? I've been playing like I am building up one island with everything on it and so if I need to cross the storm I do it on my large island. Should I be having an island on each side of the storm? Do I just need one small "travel" island to go back and forth and then use my large island for travelling to each land? Do I need to have an island of each biome type? Can I build up walls around the perimiter of my island that will deflect the stone...

if your power goes off for any reason you will lose any and all progress within your world. known issue for about 6 months but no fixes, wish i did more research before i bought it

Insects won't release.

I've been on 2 different islands where it requires Insect Diversity. All I have are ladybugs and I've tried to release both ways but the island wont recognize them? It allows me to pick them back up. Am I doing something wrong?

Early Access-recension

What's not to love about htis game ? Very chill, you can fly, you can build a nice moving base, sound design is awesome with a great attention to minor details like thunder sound being muffled when you're in a cave... Oh, and for once this is a game that actually understands it is not supposed to rain inside buildings.

Combat is minimalist, and even can be deactivated at world creation, so it should be fine for everyone. Be warned though, character creation has "body types" instead of "'male" and "female", so if you're so very conservative that you get incredibly flusttered by that, as I've seen many times, avoid this game. If you're a normal-thinking person though, you have no reason to not play this great game.

Can't wait to see what it's going to become with more time in the oven, but it's already preety cool as is.

Early Access-recension

The game has nice aesthetics and the flying is pretty fun and simple, but this is not a survival game in it's current state. There aren't really any survival elements in it. There's a food meter, but it's more for buffs more than anything else, you don't actually need food to live.

In it's current state, this game is more of a cozy, crafting exploration game. You can pretty much do things at your leisure with no pressure.

Some feedback from our play experience so far.

1.) The limited hotbar size makes the linen top insanely valuable compared to all other clothing. There are so many tools that I constantly want to keep equipped for easy switching. Sword, Hammer, Pick, Axe, Dorkip, Sickle, Sketchbook, Field Guide. Never mind the fact I'm already having to switch tools to equip the spyglass, bucket, torch, and whatever else I need in the moment. Just having those two extra slots makes things a lot easier, and I really feel like they should be always available instead of lo...

To celebrate this event, Aloft's Game Designer & Community Manager will be livestreaming tomorrow at 01:00 PM EST!

They will be covering the latest Critters & Wonders update, share some exclusive concept art, and maybe spill a secret or two. 👀
