The Escort VIP begins/began **inside** a solid building... cannot move him to extraction. Nevermind anywhere. Ever. Must be an issue with crowded mission spawns (5+ soldier minions, plus the Escortee). Aaaargh... :( (Must Abandon the mission.)

... Fun game. At least, as early into things as I am, it seems much friendlier than other X-Com'ers. Not so brutal. I *do* find myself wondering though: could a game like this somehow present a campaign to players without a timer mechanic? I know, the passage of time is a core aspect to these games, yet I despise timers. Forcing me into things I am not comfortable with entering into has always bothered me; I like to go at things more at my own pace. I just wonder if there might be another way to structur...

I tried doing searches but nothing useful comes up. How do You fix or repair a weapon after combat? Do You have to go to the forge and research the weapon then basically build a new one or is there a way to just fix the one you have?

I've been passively keeping up with the difficulty arguments, and whilst playing on Baron difficulty, I've had some issues, but none insurmountable... Until the final boss. He gets something like 4-6 actions per turn and is putting out un-healable, un-mitigatable damage. Regardless of whether I stop the ritualists or kill the extra NPCs first. Oh and he heals himself every turn for basically the small amount of damage I AM able to do to him. I can normally tell if I can beat a fight or not after a few ...
