This game is HARD.

The campaign, while being short and having a few minor bugs (a few objectives that won't trigger even if you've done everything right) is challenging, and makes you HAVE to use your brain. The enemy is fierce and outnumbers you, in a good engagement, 6:1. The scenarios are constantly changing, and errors are met with fierce prices to pay.

The best way to describe it, is a pro and con:

* Good graphics, visuals add a nice touch.
* Challenging campaign, makes you work for the victory.
* Underlying mechanics add depth to gameplay (managing casualties, ammo, wounded evacuations, fire support, etc.)
* Glossary gives you a short blurb about all equipment / scenarios you encounter, so even a new player with no history background can understand what the game is aiming to represent.
* You feel super cool managing an air assault battalion, being able to watch as helicopters ferry your troops into the combat zone.

* Game does feel slow to progress at times, but it does infact progress.
* Personal gripe with Missions 1/2 - after completing 1, any HQ unlocks you had from before stay that way into mission 2, with no ability to change them
* Some mission triggers will soft lock your game, forcing you to basically restart the entire mission unless you reached a checkpoint (there's probably only 1 per mission.)
* Doomspiral points - If you take a few casualties, you lose points which is understandable - until you start hitting -9000 points and can't even call in helos to evac your troops, why can you go so negative with no literal possibility to fix it?


All in all, this game is pretty good for what it is. A budget version of MoW, with way more interesting mechanics. If you like the Vietnam War and military strategy, try it out. I love strategy, and this one really made me have to think about my actions and the best course of action.
