One of the best and most challenging games I've played.

Home run.

Not a soulslike fan but this game grabbed me by the -elongated- nose! It's got fascinating, fairytale-inspired lore, great enemy/boss variety, tough but mostly fair combat, beautiful aesthetics and atmospheric music. Exploration leaves something to be desired, as secret spots are a tad too obvious/easy to find and the level design is fairly linear. None of those elements bothered me, but for hardcore fans, they might be minor detractors.

Personally I enjoyed every minute of it; every new environment, every new bruise (well, almost), and every earned triumph. The ending opens up a world of exciting possibilities for future DLC and sequels, both of which are more than welcome as far as I'm concerned!
