This game had all the potential in the world to be a GREAT XCOM alternative, but commits the most cardinal sin. Huge difficulty spikes with random unbalanced punishing missions that end whole runs. And no I'm not talking about early technofages which are sure suicides, but corruption 1-2 "low danger" missions that can get pretty insane with a lot of injuries accumulated and missing rewards... And no i refuse to play the cakewalk difficulty, i'm a long war XCOM/XCOM2 veteran and never had such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ constant pod spawns with buffed armored casters. I'm watching the scrubiest mob to chain resurrect 3-4 more and you get overrun pretty fast. Even when you have a great start and have 7-8 rank 3 + knights with tons of servitors and 0 injuries and you feel on top of the world, there is ALWAYS that mission that will eventually end the run down the road. Its a real shame cause the WH40K Grey Knights atmosphere is there, classes have nice abilities and there are cool physics and enviromental interactions for multikills (although the AOE is not clearly visible beforehand). Also when the missions pop up there is no way you can guess if you have enough time to get two or three in a row. You can see if you have time only for the one you are heading each time, which is a bummer and you cant do anything about it. In all unless heavily modded to fix constant pod spawning and enemy buffing, harder difficulties are broken. Also the DLC classes while strong enough by their own, they don't interact with the space marine abilities (except autos like support fire) so they cant be buffed or get extra turns and get real silly (like a biomanced interceptor). If you are ok playing it in cakewalk difficulty, i guess you can still enjoy it. I am not and after rage uninstalling it three times i'm not going back unless a total overhaul like long war shows up for this POS.

I mean, it's X-COM, in Warhammer 40k, what's not to like??
