It's very fun as an adventure game although the map size is limited and classes of ships are not numerous. It feels like an indi game but very well conducted. All the elements are presented. If the developers decide to make a sequel I believe it can be a success just like Mount & blade. Good job.

So the basic concept of this game is really cool. Fly about in airships load them out with gear and weapons, fight pirates, engage in trade and build industrial/trade stations. However the execution is appalling.

I can only assume the Devs tried to re-invent the wheel and decided that making it hexagonal would be an improvement.

The mission interfaces are un-intuitive and clunky. Why they cannot have a simple quest tracker which ticks off the goals as you complete them I don't know. Instead you have to speak either to NPCs or Crew or some other random who could be hiding on your ship or at one of the locations at the target. If it wasn't for the red icons telling you where to look you would have no hope of figuring it out.

Combat is fun, but at times unbalanced. The first few combat missions of the main intro quest line puts you against mostly weaker ships to allow you time to get used to combat, and then without warning throws you against a pirate way stronger than you with no hopes of survival unless you have mastered combat by your 4th attempt.

Flight is clunky and unsatisfying. If you were hoping of gracefully sailing the skies, and swooping in on unsuspecting targets you can forget it. Ships move insanely slow. Like, LUDICROUSLY SLOW. So the only hopes of getting anywhere are by using your cruise engine which consumes fuel and takes ages to charge and activate and can only travel in a straight line. BUT EVEN THAT is super slow, so instead of making ships faster, they give you the option to accelerate the game to x5 or x10 speeds. Which takes any joy out of the flying and causes pirate ships to suddenly appear on top of you in a flash, and of course any evasive action you take instantly drops you out of cruise speed giving you no hopes of escaping anyway!

You can kit out your ship with gear, but the starting items it gives you as a bonus do not easily fit on your ship which already seems fully kitted out with similarly powerful items, making the bonus items seem oddly useless. In fact one of the items it gave me was a energy core, which actually lowered the overall power rating of my ship when i installed it. Not to mention that certain items can only be placed in specific locations which makes customising the ship far more tricky, and just feels needlessly restrictive.

TLDR: Really the only thing going for this game is the cool steampunk/airship aesthetic. but the controls and execution of the game will leave you frustrated and unsatisfied.
