Hi may be a silly question but how do you save this game ?

When I try to pick up the offer letter, nothing happens. The gold text highlights briefly when I press it, like it's being selected, but that's it. Can't do anything from there beyond exit the game. I'm using an Xbox controller. Everything else has worked fine until this point, but I can't continue the game....
