Any way to properly convert 'png' cartridges into 'p8'?

There are several 'romset' compilations available at archive org, but none of them are of any use with Pemsa, because it either won't read png or return an error (both for .png and p8.png). Is there a way to convert png cart to p8 format, readable by this application?...
