Definitely a great visual novel. The price was friendly, and I liked the art style as well as the color scheme of the cover and the icon. The voice acting in the sex scenes was superb. If you are mentally prepared for the messed up plot, you wouldn't find the game disappointing. While it is quite upsetting that there were no good ends, I think there is a reason behind this.

Warning: the next part of the review contains discussion of the game's plot, and will definitely spoil you. Make sure you don't mind or complete the entire game first.


To my knowledge, no one seemed to have given similar views as me, both on steam or on vndb. I do not claim to have full confidence in my interpretation, but I hope to give a (relatively) new and novel perspective to other players.


Anyone who have watched the whole game would definitely have noticed that there were all sorts of weird stuff about the plot (contradictions, abnormal dialogues, etc). Considering all the anomalies throughout the entire game through all its endings and choices, it is very likely that in fact, Nazuna does not exist, and is purely a hallucination of Sumire's. I will discuss the hints and signs one by one.


In ending 1, after Sumire met Nazuna at the University, they had a chat. Next, she went home and then masturbated. After she finished, Nazuna suddenly appeared. The background was still Sumire's home. If this were real, this implies that Nazuna somehow knows where Sumire lives. However, during their chat at the university, Sumire never mentioned where she lives. It is likely that Nazuna was a hallucination.


It is known that Sumire plays video games. She sometimes describes her experiences in video game terms, such as "Maybe the raid boss was a lot weaker than I thought" in chapter 4, and "I'll take it back! We've got an emergency quest!" in chapter 5. This on itself isn't abnormal, as anyone who plays too much video games can relate to. What's abnormal is that when Nazuna asked "why are you so kind to me?", Sumire (the player) can choose between "you helped me before" and "you did the same to me". When the former is chosen, she said "Remember when I failed my quest before? You consoled me when nothing else was going right for me. You always helped me farm materials and XP. So this is to pay you back for that." While we don't know whether Nazuna is familiar with video games, we certainly didn't see any content of them even discussing video games. This suggests that Nazuna's video games formed the basis of her hallucination. She projected one of the game characters she seen onto one she hallucinated.

We now found that Sumire wasn't studying at the university. Nazuna asked the university and was told that there wasn't a person called Ashiya Sumire studying there, and she couldn't find Sumire's student ID. If she did not attend university, how could she have met Nazuna? Thus, the logical conclusion is that it was all her imagination. The next choice is Nazuna choosing between "Look through her social media" and "Go through the picture folder". Choosing the latter also gives the content of the former, but with extra content which mentioned that there was a picture with a character that looked exactly like Nazuna. The next lines said by Nazuna goes: "Did she (Sumire) met this character before she met me?" I think this is one of the clearest signs. It agrees with my conclusion in the previous paragraph. Then, we see that Sumire was previously drugged and trained by men. This shows her dark past, and probably explains why she is mentally unstable.

I think probably 80% of the players decided to choose "Maybe you imagined it?" for the first time, given that you aren't reading an online strategy page to assist gameplay. The devs teases the player by making that choice unavailable, oh, and also adding the next line "I'm glad you're not a liar", as if the player really made that choice out of free will. Obviously, this is intentional. But why did the devs do that? If the devs did not want us to choose, they can just not provide any choices to begin with. I speculate that this is a hint of Nazuna's lack of free will. Since she is a hallucination, she naturally cannot determine her own actions.

Next, Nazuna suddenly made a suggestion about doing dirty things. This is very out of character. After such activity, Sumire thought "Something felt off this whole time. My Nazuna wouldn't do this." She became convinced that the person in front of her isn't Nazuna, and tried to strangle her to death. The game ends abruptly after Sumire saying "Help me, Nazuna...I'm scared...Nazuna, where are you right now?" I wasn't able to give a straight answer as to what this scene actually conveys, but I'll give one possible interpretation in the grand picture paragraph.


In chapter 6, Sumire had a weird dream. There were dialogues supposedly said by "???", but there was no sound other than creepy music. The dialogues went "You're---? I'm the guild master. You're a beast tamer like me. Let's be friends. Oh you are---? You're so cute in real life too! Come on, it'ill feel good. Unless you can't do what I say?". However, the person on screen was Nazuna. Sumire then thought "it happened again. I can't do anything when this happens." Next, she doesn't recognize Nazuna again. It's up to interpretation as to why she said "I can't do anything when this happens.", and what does it mean exactly by "when this happens". A possible explanation is that the dream linked Nazuna back to her source - the video game, which reminded her than Nazuna is just a game character, causing her substantial frustration.


We see that in one of the ends in chapter 7, Sumire and Nazuna was on drugs, and they were hallucinating. Now, we finally know the cause of her hallucinations. In the other end (the final end that triggered end credits), Sumire realized that "It doesn't have to be Nazuna. It can be anyone who can fufill me." This also kind of suggest that she invented Nazuna to fufill herself, although this is up for debate.


The game's Japanese name is "Suteki na kanojo no tsukuri kata". Translated literally word for word as "wonderful girlfriend [possesive particle] making method". The word "tsukuri", is the conjunctive form of the word "tsukuru", which means "make". Sumire made her own girlfriend.


The first time when Sumire met Nazuna was when she was surrounded by a bunch men of whom she thought was a girl she met online. It is possible that she was kidnapped, and they did all sort of unspeakable things to her. As a result of her trauma, she hallucinated a girlfriend, perfect in every single way, who helped her, had similar experiences as her, listened to her, and obeyed her at all times. It is possible that all those sexual assault that she done to Nazuna was her projecting her own trauma on some imagined character. In other words, what she did to Nazuna was what the men did to her.

In chapter 5, Sumire suddenly doesn't recognize Nazuna. As I mentioned, there isn't a confident interpretation for this, but one possible one is that her hallucination started to break down, and she realized who the person in front of her really is. Another point to note is that after she doesn't recognize Nazuna, Nazuna's character name was replaced by "???".


I hope that I'm not the one hallucinating here. Regardless, the grand picture shows that the plot is even darker than the surface. Everything was determined from the start, and no matter what the player chooses, Sumire could not find true happiness. The longer we live, the more we descend into despair. Pessimistically, this VN is a tragedy which shows that often (and realistically so), we are not in control.
