constant crashes near the end point of chapter 22 made me give up on this game, an issue I did not have when I first played the game in 2021. Over all I Find that there are more bugs now than when I Originally played the game.
Story: is bad with long winded Dialog , i started Skipping cut scenes at around chapter 15
Characters: weak one dimensional anime archetypes, i stopped reading the bond events after 10, there are 400 in the game . Developers should have focused quality over quantity.
Maps: a mix bag, some quite good , some quite bad, most mediocre.
Game Not Recommended.

As a longtime FE fan Dark Deity really fills the gap I was looking for inbetween entries. The characters as well which are an important aspect of the games like FE are done well and charming. And the story is simplistic yet holds up well on first playthrough.
The interesting thing is the lack of permadeath. Rather characters get permanently debuffed and can no longer participate in the current map. It still gives a slight gravitas to if you can afford to sacrifice a unit or not but doesn't run into the issue of "I lost a unit time to reset the whole map". My particular favorite however is the inbuilt randomizer. Adds *plenty* of diversity to an already diverse game with plenty of options of how you tackle the playthrough. This leads to every playthrough being able to be different and engaging. For some it might wear out it's welcome but personally I greatly enjoy it.
Overall love it and if my hours don't show it then I don't know what will. I'm amazingly excited for the sequel and will be buying that right away.

Dark Deity is a very mixed game but I think where it works, it shines.

Pros:
Character Customization - Customization is pretty good. Each character has effectively 16 different classing options as they level up leading to plenty of skill combinations based on their personal skill, 4 class skills, and the aspects (we'll get to those later). Though I do feel like certain choices are strictly better. Like raider/witch hunter for thieves felt awful to use.

Overworld Skills - These are skills that a character can use while on the field and they are pretty fun to use. I love using a bunch of mages to teleport a slower unite and it certainly feels nice having something to do when no enemies are in range.

Neutral:
The Story - It's weird. It feels like these just happen.

The Maps - I would describe the maps as a reverse bell curve. The opening maps are great because of how compact they are. Then the maps slowly got bigger, and longer, with lots of enemies. Though the last 4 maps went back to being good.

The Characters - I feel like there is waaay too many units in this game. I'm not sure why you need the cast of a traditional fire emblem game when there is no permadeath and stat increases are relatively easy to get late game.

Bad:
Glitches - I hope they fixed these. Sometimes any character would become unactionable. It feels like this game was designed for controllers.

Inventory management - There's no easy way to move items from the convoy to party members or move items between party members. This is somewhat alleviated by the fact that the only items you need to worry about are aspects (which each party member can hold one of for another passive skill) and food. But imagine if you had to manage weapons. Speaking of...

Stats - There's a lot of stats that you have to go out of your way to figure out. There's stuff like true speed and luck which I don't necessarily understand the calculations for. Additionally, classes will have an armor type and weapon type(s). Certain armor loses and beats certain attack types. It's like a pokemon type chart, but confusing. Luckily the game will tell you if your character has a weapon advantage or not.
