After a longer and more complex hiatus than anyone could have predicted, we're beyond thrilled to announce that the DAMN! IP is making a fierce comeback with two major game announcements!

In 2019, we launched a Kickstarter for Demons Ate My Neighbors! with big ambitions: to create a love letter to classic 90s run-and-gun games, spiced up with the intensity of roguelite shooters like The Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon, all mixed with the goofy co-op energy of ToeJam & Earl. We were ready to bring you this vision—even got Macaulay Culkin involved! But after factoring in Kickstarter rewards, fees, and production costs, we realized we needed to scale up our resources to bring the full vision to life.

The challenges of COVID and the need for a clear plan led us to put the project on pause while we sharpened our focus. Today, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve secured outside support to relaunch the DAMN! project—and with fresh momentum, we’re announcing two titles currently in development: DAMN! Nation and Demons Ate My Neighbors!

And that’s not all—Tuned-Out Games has evolved into Curse Free Studios, which will be producing and publishing all DAMN! IP titles moving forward!

DAMN! Nation is a free-to-play mobile game, designed as a one-handed, single-player experience that introduces players to the world and characters of DAMN! Step into the shoes of April in this action-packed prologue to the main story of Demons Ate My Neighbors! 📲

DAMN! Nation will launch in a closed beta this December and then will be available for public consumption early 2025. It will be available on iOS, Android, and Quest headsets (as a 2D app)
While we have no plans to implement blockchain technology in Demons Ate My Neighbors!, when it comes to our partnership agreement for DAMN! Nation, we’re implementing blockchain technology to store run data, providing a transparent, public leaderboard to keep things fair and track performance trends.

We know some players have concerns about this tech, but we want to be open from the start of our new relationship with you as a potential fan: it was the best path to secure funding and bring the IP back to life.

Rest assured, despite the blockchain implementation, this partnership has enabled us to make a game focused on fun first. It’s a completely optional feature that exists to add some transaction data to the chain alongside providing those who choose to opt in additional benefits such as achievements and token airdrops on a companion app.

Our new funding will bring DAMN! Nation to life, with the hope that its success will pave the way for us to realize the original vision of Demons Ate My Neighbors! fully.

Our plan remains mostly the same - a fully fleshed out, “traditional” roguelike action game for 2-player co-op. We loved growing up with the vibes of Zombies ate my Neighbors, and have lost 100s of hours playing The Binding of Isaac, and if we can combine the complexity and depth with the wacky 90’s vibes, with just a pinch of ToeJam & Earl’s kooky co-op funkiness, we think we have the recipe for something really special.
