I love it

Kind of an awesome open world samurai game, the reviews dont do it justice although if youre computer is on the lower end I guess theres performance issues? I havent had any. Someone also complained about a completely optional gliding minigame for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason lmao. This is create a chracter GoT with less cinematic storytelling and more juicy stealth kills and combat. This is the game I wish was made 15 years ago come to life

This is the most ambitious project that Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja have ever worked on in terms of scale. While not perfect, it is a good game and the first semi-open world game (although it is divided by zones in chapters).

The game’s performance was terrible. I was able to power through and played in 4k with max settings and ray tracing, but I needed DLSS upscaling and frame generation for a smooth experience of over 90fps at all times. This is on an RTX 4090. For the fidelity that this game delivers, there is no reason why it should perform this badly.

I encountered a few crashes, around 4-5 in my 74+ hours of game time, and an annoying bug which disconnected me from the server (even when online options were off). This annoying display notice that could come on the screen every time that happened would cut off your control from the character but would not pause the game. I died at least twice because of this.

Here are some specific impressions of the game:

Pros:
- Lots of options to create, dress and arm your character which you can edit at any time.
- Long story, very loyal to the real Japanese story.
- Beautiful depiction of Japan.
- Very good combat, with a wide variety of mechanics.
- Lots of missions.
- A vast number of historical characters available to bond with, some of them which you can get into romantic relationships with.
- Loot feels rewarding.
- Levelling up and investing skill points feels worthwhile.
- Great sound effects and voice acting (Japanese dub).
- Lots of stuff to discover.

Cons:
- Type A and B in character creation.
- Graphics quality can be hit or miss.
- Jarring camera angle switching during conversations.
- Missions all feel too similar.
- You fight the same characters many times.
- Your decisions don’t really have much of an impact other that in the last chapter and the ending.
- Romantic relationship system is very limited.
- The ending feels half-assed.
- Post game content doesn’t feel worthwhile, even with how solid the combat is.

I enjoyed this game a lot and, even with all its issues, I played it through the end, completing most bonds quest and side content other that end game content. If one of the two endings is anything to go by, we might get a sequel. I would definitely buy that sequel.
