I love the Monster Hunter Stories series and this one is easily my favorite one out of the 2. Everything about it is just fun. Simple but yet sort of complex combat, Cool monster to get into your party, Over all cool weapon system that makes you switch around between slash, blunt and piercing weapons which keeps game play refreshing. Overall it's a very solid game, The story is very predictable so don't suspect much out of it. Other then that. it's a solid 8/10 for me

Great game. I love the monster hunter series. I'm also a Pokemon fan. This is a great take on monster taming gameplay. MHS1 came to PC as well, another great game. MHS2 improves on the 1st, but MHS1 is also worth it.

Stories 2 was a mixed bag for a lot of fans of the first game. There are a lot of differences that are neither good nor bad, just a sort of side-step that makes the game too different to say it truly improved on the first. I have beaten Stories 1 four times at the time of writing this and have just completed Stories 2 for the second time. I can say that as a huge MonHun fan and lover of the first game that Stories 2 is an absolute delight. It has issues, all games do, but the story in this game is a huge step up from the last and IMO the second-best story in all MonHun. The game feels good, swapping weapons mid-battle is incredibly fun, there are a ton of monsties (though not every Monster is available, I really wanted a Duramboros). Overworld movement feels less like commanding a giant monster to move for you and more like playing a video game, which is a good thing as the immersive movement of the first began to drag heavily by the end of Stories 1. Monsters are closer together in power, so even if a Zinogre is technically a better choice you can still use Tobi-Kadachi just because you love him. The game is not overly difficult outside of post-game content, but you still have to pay enough attention to keep you interested. Stories 2 has far more good going for it than weird things dragging it down, if you play it you'll likely have a very good time. Highly recommended for fans of Monster Hunter or those looking for a creature collector with more interesting combat than Pokemon!
