Hi, I just got this and I wondered if I needed to play the first game to understand/enjoy the plot? I also wanted to know about the keyboard and mouse controls. Am I missing something, or is there no support?

I've never played any *mon games before, this is my first one. I also haven't played a ton of turn-based battle games. What I don't understand is why I sometimes get attacked more than once... I choose an attack and sometimes I attack first, and sometimes I'm attacked immediately before getting the move off? I was so excited to try this game, but no matter what troubleshooting I do this game just will not detect my controller inputs! im using a xbox brand xbox one controller and it just wont detect it (yes its plugged directly into my PC) if anyone can think of a fix please let me know i'm desperate lmao...
