Endless mode is unplayable IMO
After finishing the game and enjoying it, I took a couple of shots at the Endless mode on Normal and found it completely unplayable. While the main game starts the crew with few skills and equipment, the enemies they encounter are on the same level. Over time, as the crew levels up and gains equipment, more challenging enemies are introduced.

Endless mode makes the mistake of dropping the unskilled and unequipped crew into battles with late-game enemies. How on earth are three level 1 crew members with no gear supposed to fight enemies that are challenging in the main game for fully equipped, level 5 characters. After a couple of initial starts - we are talking the first Endless missions here - where crew members died and missions were failed, it quickly became clear that this game mode needs serious balancing.

He's trying to say 'git gud', but apparently can't spell it.

Lol, I don't think spelling is the problem with the metaphor. It just makes no sense.

:) He's saying the guy simply doesn't know how to use his units. But that's ridiculous.

The OP makes a good logical argument within the logic of the story line game. Just because it's endless mode doesn't mean you should ignore progression entirely.

I just tried to play endless on normal and third mission i got to assassinate crab with 380 HP... with 3 level 2 characters. Crab also had help. Or 2nd mission get supplies. 7 turns. supplies are all over the place with soviet soldiers in packs of 2-3. 100 hp units. It is NOT possible. You cannot "git gud"... Devs should tweak the missions so it spawns weaker enemies, and give more time, time is also limited by air supply... Tried to play but not possible... And I finished Xcom2 on legendary ironman...

Game has been deserted by devs? Have not seen any activity from them in a long time

Here what the developers have said on their Discord recently:
''Cevari — 11/22/2021
We decided to look into it with fresh eyes, and it looks like there is some room for better balancing around the early game of Endless mode. Not gonna make promises about what exactly we'll do, but expect some changes in the near future ''

To be honest I don't see the real appeal of endless mode, the story is what moves this game along nicely, and it doesn't take all that long to gear up your team, so what is the point of this mode really?

This is a mode for people like me that don't care about the story and are only interested in the gameplay. I think the goal is to achieve the highest scores but it could have been reaching a certain level or any other objective like the one in the story mode i.e. saving the world by eliminating the source that menace the world (an end level).

I have to agree. Endless mode seems tacked on, which is fine for players wanting to test mechanics, but I'd play story again before putting any time into it.

Hey, thanks everyone for the feedback regarding Endless Mode. We had a look at the balance and found that there was definitely some room to improve, the new patch is live now making things a little less lethal to begin with.

I'm not going to deny that Endless was not the main focus of development for Stirring Abyss - we do want it to be fun and challenging without feeling unfair, but it is definitely intended more as an additional thing to play with after/alongside Story mode rather than as a separate standalone game.

Hey, it's a nice added feature that you didn't have to add but did. My only complaint about the main game was that it wasn't longer! Good job!

So I came back. Mission one, assassination of top tier enemies. ON EASY. I realise life happens, but come on.

Do you need suggestions for how to do it, or something? No shame, just asking. Need to know if there's any scaling at all built in, or if the story mode is entirely scripted.
