Possible to force display resolution externally?
Attempting to play the game for the first time, but I've run into a strange issue that makes it impossible to change any of the in-game settings. Everything works fine at the main menu, until I select Settings, at which point the game seems to change resolution, and the mouse pointer no longer aligns with any of the options, making it impossible to navigate and change any of the various settings, especially those with a drop-down menu.

I've tried disabling any system the DPI scaling in Windows, with no success, and normally games have an external .txt config file where it's possible to change things like display resolution manually. Apparently not in this case though.

Does anyone have a potential work-around?

I'm having the same issue on my desktop, did you figure anything out?

Nothing that addresses the main issue, although I did manage to navigate the settings menu just enough with my mouse to change to full screen window mode in the meantime.

Thanks for the response, i made a post because I have the same issue (except I can’t find a way to adjust settings at all on my desktop). I guess this one is going in the backlog indefinitely because I can’t play it in the way it’s currently set and can’t figure out how to reset the config file to its default state. Ive deleted it and manually edited it, it still has all graphics settings locked in a way that makes the game unplayable. Shame.

I have a similar problem. Ingame settings doesnt save after leaving game. I always have to set my screen resoultion back to my native resolution (4K) after every gamestart. I´m playing in fullscreen.

I doubt it applies to your situation, but I fixed my issue ultimately. The problem was really that I started the game on a 16:9 machine/display and when switching to my primary desktop with an ultrawide aspect ratio, it was stretching the 16:9 image across a 21:9 monitor, which messed up the UI elements, if I clicked on them with my mouse, it wouldn’t register the input. I ultimately fixed it by going back to my Steam Deck and changing to full screen and setting the resolution to 1080x2560, which then allowed it work properly on my desktop. This game definitely has issues with its display settings and how they get saved, especially across multiple machines.

I have no idea if this will help or not but I've discovered that the game settings as far as resolution is concerned can not be higher than the native resolution set for the Windows desktop.
I actually forced the resolution in the Ini settings file of the game. But TAA quality and shadow quality still get reset every time I start the game
