since theres no guides I thought id ask here. the one with the insects on the line where you need to move them in order, im having trouble. some hints or the answer pretty please.

first puzzle - 4 spaces, 8 blocks some symbols next to spaces in which I don't see how they pertain to the shapes on the blocks. Is this just a case of trial and error, or am I just missing something?
