Fun game to me, worth the price! Might be a bias opinion because I love the franchise. Reminds me of Xcom, though it's not turn-based. Love to see all the recognisable vehicles in the maps and the marine customization is quite nice. I'd say, give this game a chance if you're intrigued.

A total headache, no fun

Great story and strategy for a top down game. Once I figured out how to pause for commands, I enjoyed it greatly. Wish there was more.

The Aliens game I never knew I needed. Want more X-COM but real time? Look no further. A little jank here and there but for a relatively small studio its quite well polished. Hope to see more.

Recommended if:
* You love squad based tactics with mild RPG elements.
* You love the Alien franchise
* You like games like X-COM but want something a little more frantic

Not recommended if:
* You said no to any of the above
* You're looking for something with a little more accessibility
* Harder games frustrate you more often than not

The game captures the sound, atmosphere and tension of the Aliens franchise.

The problem is, it wants you to play the game as a stealth game. I don't want to play Alien Isolation. I get that it can make sense to use stealth in some missions, but let us live out our fantasy of being a squad of badazz marines killing a bunch of xenos!

Instead, if you do get into firefights, you're penalized for it with increasing waves of difficulty.

This coupled with clunky controls and camera angles, as well as extremely hard to locate clickable objects on the maps (datapads, loot, etc) really killed the enjoyment factor of it for me.

I don't want to play a marine who has to hide behind objects and hope he isn't spotted by a xeno. I want to open fire!

There's no reason to play this over XCOM. This is basically a casualized version where the combat is automatic.
