This needs a sequel.
I went back to finished this game finally.
I originally started playing in 2022, took a break, and after moving in real life, I realized I hadn't finished it yet, so I finally did. It really hit differently after going through my own move, and I appreciate the way the game tells a story through objects and space.

Now that I’ve completed it, I can’t help but wonder… is there any chance of a sequel in the future? I’d love to see more life stages, maybe new challenges or customization options, while keeping the cozy, emotional vibe that made Unpacking so good.
After playing. I kinda want more.

Thanks again for the experience. Looking forward to anything you create next. :SoldierThumbsUp:

To answer your question, we don't have plans to make a sequel - to us, it's a completed story. Right now the studio is hard at work on our next game, Tempopo - which is different from Unpacking, but we're very excited about.

Wishing for another story
I wish I could one day play a sequel (an indirect one) which would basically be another life's story told through the same medium.

I don't think trying to extend THIS story is viable, as it was created to be pretty self-contained and I hope for this happy ending to be a happy ever after, but it's not impossible to create another story...

The engine and the mechanic is just so cool :)

It would be cool if they added the ability to create your own levels.

I think there should be two player and the second player is your wife that you marry and have a kid with in the end. You would have two different screens and they start from normal 1997 but the second player should be the wife there are all new stages until you move into the same house

Fr, this game also really hits home for me too! Its so special to me and I've replayed it countless times, each just as fun :D A second one would be so awesome! Also that's pretty cool how you were moving while playing the game, Haha.
I too want to see a sequel.
I just want more of the same. Don't need any new features, just more content. Love this game, thank you for making it.

I think so too. They should really add it.

Potential for a sequel or DLC?
Yeah I know narrative wise the story is wrapped up but I'm not talking about another story. This was fun and I'll gladly pay 15-20 bucks for DLC levels or even a brand new game. Or hey maybe some kind of level editor/map maker for the community? I just want more Unpacking but no one else has anything similar that scratches that same itch.

Again, don't care about another story it's great where it's been left, I just want more of the game.
