How do I fix the lagging and low FPS?
I use Geforce GTX 1070 and the game is lagging.
I don't know how to fix this.

Try setting the .exe to 'Above Normal' priority through Windows Task Manager.
Not the most perfect fix, since you have to do it every time, but it works.
(I have a /2070/ and it still lags for me, though I imagine it's the CPU, not the GPU, that's being taxed)

Connect any gamepad you have.

I played with a wired gamepad and that didn't affect anything.

is it really the solution to the problem? I had reimbursed it for not finding the solution. I don't know whether to risk buying it again.

I can't say that it is a solution for sure but I did play the game with controller since the first minute and had a zero issues in 107 hours I spent in the game. Not a single crash, not a single stutter. FPS between 70-144 @ 1440p G-SYNC ON, NVCP V-SYNC ON and max in-game settings.

So as far as my experience with this game, it run smoothly and it is very stable game. I did nothing special, no tweaks, just regular settings I use for most of the games.

This game is weird in that it seems to run worse if you have BETTER hardware (or at least, a better GPU)

I have a ryzen 5 3600, rx 580 and 16gb of ram, I will buy it again to see how it goes if I use a ps4 controller. Thanks for sharing your experience with the game.

Yes, I bought the game again (I had reimbursed it) and by using dualshock 4 I was able to play without problems.

Swapping the priority in the Windows Task Manager made the game run nicely until I swapped the resolution to 1080 then it's back to square one again :lunar2019crylaughingpig: But since the default resolution is still fine I'll stick with that :)

I followed the advices written above, but still the game runs very bad! What can I do? Thank you

This is probably really late but the solution i found was this:
1. Go to Nvidia Control Panel
2. Click manage 3D settings
3. Click Program settings and find Atelier Ryza
4. Once you've clicked on the game you'll see the drop down tab that says, "select a preferred graphics processor for this program" this setting should set to global by default
5. Change this setting to, "High-performance NVIDIA processor"

This should solve the issue, I tried this and it fixed it immediately for me. I heard the controller method works for some people too but it didn't for me. So if anyone else experiences this problem follow the guide above and see if it works.

Ryza has a weird issue where it will spend every waking frame hunting for a game pad.
Plug in a controller and its anxiety induced lag will go away.
