Here in Brazil, this game without sale cost 300R$, Elden Ring costs 220R$, God of War costs 199R$, hell even Final Fantasy 15 is at sale right now for 50R$.
Is this like a regional price or something?
I see, thanks for the info
Converted the standard price of AAA $60 games = 335.96 BRL before tax... So yeah I assume you guys are getting a hefty discount for a ton of these games. AAA has been jacking the price even higher to $70 lately and that equals 391.96 BRL.
Usually, developers reduce the price of games as they age to encourage more sales.
I've seen this happen pretty rarely.
Most AAA publishers do that rarely, but KoeiTecmo, FromSoft, Squeenix, Crapcom, Nofriendo and few more Japanese publishers are well-known for NOT cutting prices unless they really have to.
For example, Soynyu just a bunch of money on Concord, therefore the rest of their games are on sale to make up the differece. Note that GoW Ragnarok is out at full price now.
All three games in the series had a triple price increase, depending on region I guess, it's literally far more expensive then they were -and the third game was already out at the time (so rip if you didn't buy them at the time).
So even at 60% off, it's still higher than it's original full price. This has to do with region pricing and a lot of devs stopped doing it for some reason, so outside America people seeing prices shoot up to, (what would the USD be?), $80-100 for games that were around $30.
Be careful with that statement. There are two issues with it.
First, the assumption that "America" = United States of America, what about Canada and Mexico which are both on the North American continent? What about Central and South America?
Second, a good portion of Europe also shouldn't have seen a price change. I wouldn't be surprised if Japan and Australia also hasn't changed. I know that where I am, the UK, that the price hasn't changed since launch.
I also can't say why devs/publishers/steam stopped bothering with regional pricing, I know the Lollipop Chainsaw Repop guys are trying to sort out regional prices for their game but why it's up to them to do it I can't tell you.
nah the base game still expensive af, code vein released at the same year its not even priced like this. and yes they got better sale too
