I feel like I must be missing something but the more I'm learning about game mechanics it just feels like this game is impossible. I'm dying of hunger on Halt 1 or 2 of each game with the first (easiest) tribe. Save and Exit. Again and again.

Look I know this game gets a bad wrap from people and I understand why. RNG can be frustrating and the game does a really poor job of a tutorial and leaves lots of aspects of the games untaught. I've grown to love “As Far as The Eye” and it just takes a bit to understand the nuances because the Story is not very good at showing you how. I only won 3 times in about 25 hours. But after that I figured out the balance of the game. I now have 40+ victories in my 100 hours as I post this. Dozens on the short...

I think it would be a great idea to consider adding a level difficulty in the game. I recently discovered this one and I must say I'm in love with the graphics, story and the music. But, what makes me demotivated at most times is that the game is truly difficult. I cannot even finish my campaign and the normal game seems too demanding to get to the eye. Just my idea but some difficulty levels like a choice between easy/normal/hard would be much more motivating to keep playing....

Understandable, but a shame. I hope someone with more resources tackles the "FTL but a citybuilder" concept. Subgenre has a lot of promise that isn't explored too much here.
