I really wanted to enjoy this but the story feels flat and combat gets very repetitive, it's only saving grace is co-op campaigns. If you can get it on sale and have some mates to play with, then it isn't too bad.

This is an excellent turn-based, combat-heavy 5E RPG. It is the Icewind Dale version of BG3.

+ The combat UI is excellent, clearly spelling out your options and preventing misclicks
+ All difficulty and QOL options are customizable
+ Tactical 5E combat is fantastic
+ Encounters are fun, many types of enemies to fight
+ Create all 4 characters in your party with full control over their appearance and levels
+ Leveling up is exciting and impactful, every level counts
+ Graphics, spell effects, animations, sound effects, voice acting, music are all top-notch
+ Dialogue, writing, and quests are just right, more impressive than expected
+ Areas are streamlined: Less exploration means more action and less searching 14 empty barrels for loot in every room
+ No cringey foreskin or pubic hair customization options

The only negative thing I can say about this fantastic game is that some of the very early random encounters are impossible to beat so you'll need to reroll them.

Some people complain about the graphical level of detail... if you're looking for eye-popping next-gen visuals, you won't find them here.

I highly recommend the Unfinished Business mod to add some additional QOL to the game, namely the expanded tooltip option, combat speedup, and inventory filtering among others.

If you enjoyed BG3 combat and you're looking for a more streamlined, action-oriented experience, Solasta will not disappoint!
