Problems starting game

Ok, here's my problem. I start the game, the title page comes up then nothing happens. Right clicking and exploring a few options and then a box comes up ...." Steam is not running. Game must be closed now. Please try to restart your Steam client account" Now I know Steam is running because I immediately try to access another game on Steam and it works. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I turned Steam off and then restarted it. I cleaned out the cache for cookies and other saved items. Finally I res...
