Revisiting this nice game on a new PC, I unlocked the Deployer, and was invited to learn about it. When I said OK, a NullReferenceException popped up. Screenshot available if helpful.

Compeller pushed a piece into the capturing piece, which fell in the water and freed my piece, which became a Warden. I've had games in which all my units start clustered together, and so it's easy to combine their abilities to good effect. I've also had games in which my units start at opposite corners of the map, all separate, and all surrounded by imminent threats. Very little can be done without immediately being captured, and there's pretty much no chance of combining abilities or refreshing units. If a beam boss removes the star from a trickster, doing a move cancel restores the stars of all tricksters that had them at the start of the *level*, not the turn. It might just restore them to the status had at the beginning of the previous turn, but this is still in error. I think you need to check and restore the starred status at the beginning of the current player move instead....
