I dismissed NELSON from the first ship and tried to add him to a now ship but he went back to the old ship. How do you take command of a new ship? Do I have to sell the ship? What if I dont want to sell the ship I currently command because its good?

I'm a huge fan of the naval warfare of the 18th and 19th centuries, and I also love land battles of that same period. Campaign isn't too important to me but it still has its significance as it helps lead to some interesting and oftentimes lopsided battles (Whether it be in my or my enemy's favor). The amphibious assaults from this game also look really cool, but from what I've seen the land battles are slightly lacking. Would you all recommend this or Empire? If you're wondering what games similar to this ...

Im playing on ease and just cant seem to sink the arrogante, I have all the other ships taken or sunk, and have 3 42 gun frigates yet still theyre doing almost no damage with best guns and theyre gone in 2 broadsides...
