It's more about telling this sort of, dry humor story that is a parody of the bureaucratic world we live in.
There is a demo that gives you an idea as to what kind of platforming elements you can expect I would try that, and if it doesn't click with you, then yeah I would pass on it.
The platforming elements to it are incredibly simple though, and it's a short game so I think even if you have an issue with platformers generally you would probably be able to endure this regardless.
Our main goal was to create a perfect Kafka's world. But just like Echorion said - it's hard to even for us to say what exact genre it is. Let's say it's a Kafkormer game! :D
Edit: managed to proceed after all. Tried to switch to PS5 controller, but it didn't work. Playing on steam deck.

There is a jumping section there. If you get past through it, you should be fine:)
Metamorphosis is a bit of a hybrid trying to blend adventure with some arcade elements, and it would actually be very interesting to hear how it fares for you.
