If Systemic Reaction was really an independent indie studio going under, I could understand a little more. The Avalanche Studios Group purposely divides their resources into "small teams" and uses that as a playing card for player sympathy when games go bad (they fail, they have too many bugs, or features take too long). The fact that Avalanche Studios opened up another office and hired several proficient AAA developers a week or two after announcing the shutdown - supposedly due to lack of resources - was a huge slap in the face. Basically, it's a shame that this can happen... but it's unethical when it's done purposely and can be avoided.
