Primal Survival: Breeding Guide
Breeding has gone through an overhaul, with the baby & egg stages (which required attention) taking much less time and mating intervals & juvenilie/adolescent stages (which don't require any/much attention) taking longer.

Below are the expected times for the different phases & stages of breeding, a lot of which are based on the creature class.

Mating Time
All creatures take 5 minutes to finish the mating.

Gestation/Egg Incubation Times
The time it takes for a pregancy to conclude or an egg to hatch is based on the creature class.
  • Weak - 15 minutes
  • Common - 30 minutes
  • Tough - 40 minutes
  • Tough+ - 50 minutes

Offspring Age Stage Times
Creatures still go through 3 stages as they grow, baby, juvenile & adolescent. In primal survival, the difference lies in how long each of those 3 stages last.

Baby Age Stage
The stage where you have to manually babysit the newborn and feed it food. This has been sped up dramatically.
The exact amount of time it takes to grow to a juvenile is equal to the time it takes to tame at max level.
Here are some examples:
  • 15 minutes for dodos, dilos etc
  • 30 minutes for raptors, pteros
  • 45 minutes for sabers, wolves
  • 60 minutes for paracers

Juvenile/Adolescent Stage
The time it takes for a creature to grow through these stages and reach adulthood is based on the creature class.
  • Weak - 4 days
  • Common - 6 Days
  • Tough - 8 Days
  • Tough+ - 10 days

Female Mating Interval
Lastly, the mating interval time (which is how long to wait between being able to mate again) is also based on the creature class.
  • Weak - 3 to 5 days
  • Common - 5 to 7 days
  • Tough - 7 to 9 days
  • Tough+ - 9 to 11 days

If you have any suggestions, questions or feedback on breeding in Primal Survival feel free to post here.

There are values exposed in the dev kit for breeding speeds and what not. The ini. file is completely seperate to what I did.

Hello Reapa,
I added you on steam, could you accept me?
I'm a fellow mod dev and I'm trying to figure out how to modify baby stages :)

Thanks!
