I'm going to teach how to protect you and your teammates from the tank at the beginning of the map.
It's very simple and safe. You will not lose any health while doing this. Great if you're going against a tank on Expert Realism

Alright a tank just spawned. What do you do? Run back to the safehouse and close the door. Now I know what you must be thinking... You idiot, he's just going to break the door down and attack all of us inside. Well there's a way to make it so he doesn't break the door. How? Block the door with your body.

Yes, block the door with your body. I recommend standing in front of the door but not too close just for safety reasons.

That's it! Now all you have to do is blast his face with clips of your gun or slash him to death. Easy way to get the Tank Burger achievement!

READ THIS FOR YOUR SAFETY AS THERE STILL SOME WAYS FOR HIM TO BREAK THE DOOR

Throwing a rock.

Yes he can still break the door with a rock, but if you already have him in front of your face you won't have to worry about the rock.
Just watch out when you're running back to the saferoom; stay close to him and make sure you don't get far enough for him to do his range attack.

Opening the door

Opening the door while he's facing it WILL CAUSE IT TO BREAK. Just don't open the door and you'll be fine. Hopefully nobody on your team will open the door.

Door Glitch

The Same Trick But With A Twist!

This little addition is nothing big, in fact you can skip this part of the guide. It's nothing major, it's not gonna give infinite first aid kits. It's just a small bug I found.

There is a glitch while doing this trick in a L4d1 map. I'm not sure why, and i'm not sure if it works in custom maps with L4D1 survivors.
Warning: For your safety, I recommend doing it the original way. Just in case if the saferoom door breaks.

Simply do the same thing you would do in a L4D2 map. Stand in near the front of the door and wait for the tank to arrive.

Now simply step back. The door is now invincible... for some reason.
The door can no longer be broken UNLESS HE THROWS A ROCK OR YOU OPEN THE DOOR IN HIS FACE.

Like I said, nothing major.
Just a glitch.

noice, saved me a few times and helped me beat every campaign on expert. gonna go for beating all campaigns on expert realism but ye, this is good

I think i accidently did the l4d1 glitch in one of the charger-steering 15v15 insane Hentai Rape servers, because i was standing at it randomly like you said and then walked away.
