City Shacks

City Shacks adds a small player “shack” to each of the major cities. These residences are intended to bridge the gap between a single night’s stay in an inn and becoming a thane and purchasing a house. Every shack is different and offers slightly different amenities. Each shack blends into its city’s architecture and provides safe storage. This mod does not intend to take the place of the vanilla houses. The shacks are well appointed but small and therefore not the best place for your spouse.

Are you a dark elf and feel like a hypocrite buying a mansion in Windhelm? Now you can live in the Grey Quarter! Do you feel like a traitor when, as a Stormcloak, you plan to burn Whiterun to the ground? Don’t buy Breezehome!

You can find the key to each shack in a nearby lock box. If you enjoy roleplaying, then pay rent into the lockbox (not required).


City Shack Locations:
Markarth – inside the Warrens
Riften – behind Boli’s house (turn left upon entering the city, look behind iron gate)
Solitude – across from Erikur’s cellar door (in wall to the right as you approach the Blue Palace)
Whiterun – immediately to the right upon entering the city (across from the forge)
Windhelm – in the Grey Quarter across from the gate to the docks (you'll have a flat-mate but he is a merchant!)
