AT THIS TIME, THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THE RANDOMLY EXPLODING MERGE BLOCK IN THE BARREL OF THE WEAPON. THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF MERGE BLOCKS RANDOMLY EXPLODING IN OTHER BUILDS. I WILL UPDATE THIS DESCRIPTION WHEN KEEN FIXES THE BUG.

Its been a very long project, but i have finally finished the Mini MAC Station Retrofit!!! :P

The station is fully functional and conveyored, including the primary weapon, the MAC cannon.

It is equiped with everything needed for survival, including reactors, batteries and solar panels. It can even function on solar power alone.

Primary propulsion is hydrogen and is equiped with 2 tanks, however, it has many many ion thrusters and can operate on them alone.

The MAC cannon is controlled at the flight seat that is reached via a tube in the control center (middle area).

To fire the weapon, make sure you have the timer block named "Fire" in your toolbar. The weapon will reload automatically.

Included is a 2nd projector named "Targetting Laser". Use the laser alongside the several cameras on the hull for aiming.

As with all gravity weapons which have barels, make sure to not have any other gravity sources in range of the barrel when firing, unless you want to blow up the barrel :P. Also with all MAC guns, do not set the entire ship to owned by you. some parts, including the welders, projectors, and merge blocks, will not function correctly if owned by you. Dont worry, the station defense guns out on the hull wont shoot the barrel lol. The reason for this is because the MAC round cant be set to owned by anyone, so the merge block and welders wont build. If anyone has a fix for this annoying issue, please share said fix in the comments below.

Now has timer block assisted turret control so that it no longer targets the projectile when firing :). Turrets now turn off when the "fire block" is triggered and back on when the "finished reload block" is triggered.

More improvements coming soon.

I hope you all enjoy this station. It has been very fun working on it.

KSH has multiple reports from other players about merge blocks randomly exploding in other builds, including non weaponized builds. ill post another comment here when KSH has fixed the bug that is causing this.

Nice. So we use the same system. But idk why the block explodes so sorry if I can’t help on that.

but yes, as an answer to your question, i do use merge blocks, projector and welders for the loading process.

i just figured out that the problem is with the timer blocks. i can manually fire and reload all i want, but when i use the timer block system, the merge block explodes

If so then it might be the merge block getting jammed if it is turned off too quickly, and after the next one is built and released it might be hitting the jammed merge block. That’s the problem I have on my ships, you just have to make sure the projectile is clear before launching.

Are you using a merge block/projector/ and welders to reload and produce the projectile?

my cannon is set up on timer blocks. you start the system by triggering the "fire block", it auto starts a timer for the "reload block" which starts a timer for the "reload finished block". right now, you have to change the timer on the "reload finished block" to 7 seconds or it wont reload all the way. i think the problem is with the game files, so it may be impossible to fix without drastically re-engineering the system.

I apologize for the issues with this build right now. the main cannon is malfunctioning and i cant find anything wrong with it. the merge block that releases the projectile is randomly exploding on firing. if anyone knows a fix for this, please share.....
