Space Sappers

Description
A space sapper, also called pioneer or combat engineer, is a combatant or soldier who performs a variety of military engineering duties such as ship-building, laying or clearing minefields, demolitions, field defenses and general construction, as well as road and space yard construction and repair. They are also trained to serve as infantry personnel in defensive and offensive operations. A sapper's duties are devoted to tasks involving facilitating movement, defense and survival of allied forces and impeding those of enemies. - wiki

We are back!
It has been quiet for a while but the team behind sector 15 is back! The old mod unfortunately stranded in a maze of workarounds and hacks in the source code. That is why we decided to take a step back and rebuild the project from the ground up. We took what we could salvage from sector 15 and rebuild anything that we didn't understand. The result: Space Sappers.

When activating this mod it will add the following to your game:
> A challenging opponent constructing stations and ships all over the place
> Hostile ships that seek to destroy your firewall
> A set of custom blocks to aid you in your defense
> A resource system used to call in precision strikes on your opponent
> Detailed information about the status of your base on your HUD

@HATE|DeathKnight I don't know of any source code that can be publicly accessed, but if you are interested in creating a spiritual successor of this mod, you can use Modular Encounters Spawner as a base to work from.

For anybody look for a mod like this search for modular encounters it adds everything this mod does and better, by adding different abilities to it including assertive installations by splitsie, you can make the game so interactive and unforgiving its crazy, and for a heavier challenge add the orks mod, i somehow managed to defend against waves of drones from a base and then out of no where the orks joined in and i managed to defend against a large ship throwing barrages of missiles at my ass, my auto cargo ships got blown to pieces so i had to reprint those, it was fun and annoying but more fun lol, just make sure to build defenses quickly and they'll come at random moments

@Wartank is there anychance of this mod ever being worked on again. There isnt any mods like this one anywhere on the workshop so seeing a mod like this just fade out is quite sad. I understamd if your busy with life and such, but knowin a status would be nice.
