Paradox Werewolf Changes - Fear Howl Fix (DG)

tl;dr This mod changes the fear werewolf howl so it only works on hostile targets (so friends don’t get upset)

Requires Dawn Guard, see below for the vanilla Skyrim version

------------------------------

This mod is a part of a set of mini-mods I have made for werewolves.

I found the fear werewolf howl to be a pain to use if you had any friendlies around as they get upset very quickly if you use it more than a few times.

So I have made the fear howl magic effects, friendly fire friendly. So now you can howl all you want and your friends won’t freak out about it.

This version is for Dawn Guard. For the vanilla Skyrim version of this mod see below.

This mod modifies the magic effect items for the fear howl spells so is incompatible with other mods that modify the magic effects, but not necessarily with mods that only modify the spell/shout part.

vinchenzojackal&soldier@bay: to get this mod to work I used a condition function called IsHostileToActor to check if the subject of the spell was hostile to the player. At a quick look I don’t see an IsFriendToActor function or any other Friend related functions that would allow me to easily target only non-friendly subjects.

The thing is I wasn’t really going for realism with this mod. I mean the only way you could make a hardened criminal run in terror from your wolf howl would be from magic. So if it is magic then it is either all targets in range or it can be selective (depending on how you look at the magic) and if it is selective why would select neutral targets?

Anyway as I don’t really want a version like you described I’m not real keen in hunting for a way to make it a reality, sorry. I hope someone else can come along and make it a reality for you. If you like you can open this mod yourself and have a go attempting to fix it. It’s not a lot of changes really.

Kind of odd if neutral units aren't effected by fear howl. You'd think that only those specific individuals and creatures that are literally friendly to the player in some form will be the only not effected... if you could make it so it can still effect neutral individuals in addition to hostiles so it would be more realistic, I would be pleased.

However, um, I'm not a demanding person and I'm really happy your submitting cool mods like this. I don't want you to go through a lot of work and break your back so to speak just to make something like that...
