On Project Rosebud
This is the thread to both discuss session-related aspects of the game and introduce yourselves if you're interested in joining. This section will keep expanding as the need arises.

For now, the key is to read our FAQ here[sta.sh] - it contains all the basics as well as branches out to the campaign blurb, a preliminary, constantly-expanding crew write-up and more.

The FAQ[sta.sh] contains a quick explanation of what RPGs are about complete with a short glossary, details of the campaign and basic rules. It also constitutes the masterpost to other materials. From it, you can access the starting campaign blurb, an introduction to the characters, the storyline so far and additional materials. This section is likely to update.

For now, sessions are coordinated from a location in CET. Schedules may change based on the interest and availability of participants. The current server is Looking for Group (RPG).

The campaign blurb[sta.sh] is an introduction to the game. It is primarily designed to let newer players in on the setting complete with insanity and Charlie, but should prove handy enough for everyone.

The preliminary crew write-up[sta.sh] is an ever-changing list of characters, either taken or suggested as they fit the scenario well. It's a combination of the information the players provide on their PCs and expanded canon. When joining, try to tell the GM a bit about your PC. It helps all participants as they know what can offer interesting roleplaying opportunities.

The quick and dirty summary[sta.sh] is exactly what it says on the tin. It's essential for new players to have a general idea what was before and useful for the rest to keep track of the events, especially when world-hopping.

This[sta.sh] is the novelised explanation of the world state after the summer sessions of 2016. As per individual requests, starring as guest stars, the OCs of (in alphabetical order):
DragonMage156[forums.kleientertainment.com]
GiddyGuy[forums.kleientertainment.com]
Minespatch[forums.kleientertainment.com]
ScienceMachine[forums.kleientertainment.com]

The current list of players (X marks when at least one session during which we RP-ed took place; those without it are usually still working on the character concept):
MeingroessterFan: WX-78, de domo Robert Wagstaff (X)
Toasty: Wilson Percival Higgsbury (X)
<default>/PanAzej: Waluigi (X)
Daniel: Soldier (X)
Lying Cake: Maxwell (X)
Hiduys: Seras Victoria (X)
Silvercide: Wilbur (X)
FuzzyIggyPoyo: Demoman (X)
Arlesienne/Keeper M: Ayenth (X)

A mini-glossary for beginning roleplayers:
RPG: a roleplaying game evolving around combined storytelling efforts of all participants
PC: player character a roleplayer roleplays
NPC: non-playable character the GM portrays
GM: gamemaster, the creator of the original scenario in charge of portraying NPCs and ensuring every player enjoys themselves
IC: in-character, everything the PC does, says, thinks and feels
OOC: out-of-character, everything the roleplayer does, says, thinks and feels when not IC
Session: a one-time game
Campaign: a series of sessions bound by the same scenario

Hey there, I'm the person from the forum that was interested in Wendy. Let me know whenever we're up and running!
keeper_m 18 Sep, 2016 @ 3:33pm
Hi, Pyr0mrcow! The server opened today and I sent you an invitation, but you were offline all the time so it may not have shown up at all. You didn't lose out on anything though: as Fortie, Sugarcombo, Iggy and Daniel were away, we just mapped out a bit of the world with John and showed our future fellow players PandoMish and TheTraditionalGentleman around while streaming for KittyDub. I am now off to update the thread with the summary of what has already happened, who plays (or intends to) play whom and the prospective times. Thanks a lot!

Yea, I tend to initially get online sometime between 8:00-9:00PM US Mountain Time. Depending on current events, it might shift, or I might be on in the morning. Weird schedule.
Guess we'll have to figure out some way to line up play sessions :P

I know all about weird schedules, believe me: it's the story of my life!

Hello, BlazeXM, what do you mean: the only active DST group? It sure is an honour to be dubbed such, but I doubt it's like this. Are you looking for servers with active admins or...? Well, it's something of our preference to have somebody on all the time as the worlds run, but it's not beyond the power of other hosts.

If you could elaborate what you mean, I'd be thankful so that we can see about how to help. What are you exactly unhappy about? The post is a tad confusing, so thanks in advance for your clarification!

Taking quick glance to find group is not hard, what is hard is scanning archives and looking through hundreds of groups to see if they are active. If blaze sees recruitment flier posted recently, that means group is active, and I do not see anything else like this, which is not good for people who want options, but in my case I am used to not making own decisions.

Oh, this... On Steam, I take it? Honestly, we hardly recruit on Steam boards. It's primarily the Klei forums and word of mouth. The group isn't public so that we can vouch for all members. If you're interested in either trying out one of our servers (until the 26th, pick one hosted on Terry 2.0 please) or recommending other groups, just let me know. I should be able to help.

Hey, just wanted to mention, judging from a few things, timezone is the main problem between us. The normal server uptime is my afternoon or so, the one time I'll pretty much never be online.
I'd love to join if we end up having sessions later on in the day; my usual best time is right around now, for reference.
Not sure if it can work, but there's the information :P

About 6 AM CET (posted 12 hours ago, it's 6 PM now)... We will need to try the weekends. My work schedule changes in October and thus we may have more information. Sorry for the inconvenience. How do your weekends look like if it's fine to ask? Maybe this could work best.
Maradyne 22 Sep, 2016 @ 9:26am
Pretty busy, unfortunately. About the same schedule.

Then I suppose it's very early rising for me on the weekends too as long as I remain in CET. What's your timezone please? This should help us arrange :).
Maradyne 22 Sep, 2016 @ 12:40pm
US Mountain Time. I tend to initially get on 8-9PM.
keeper_m 27 Sep, 2016 @ 2:41pm
As requested on the Klei forums, here's the novelised version of where we will pick up: http://sta.sh/01hj39058t2i
keeper_m 30 Sep, 2016 @ 12:54pm
For short linking, here is the Google-made tiny URL (just remove the spaces): g o o . g l / i H Q x F T - also, please be aware that we require children before high school (less than sixteen) to provide parental permission before joining due to the mature nature of the RPG. In return, we will offer screening beforehand. Thank you for your understanding.
