Brief Summary : November 11, 1918

The end of World War 1, althought judging by the streets of London, England you wouldn't be able to tell it. Four long years of German ship raiding and blockading have left the people of the United Kingdom in despair and poverty. Those who can, leave to find work in Post-War France, the United States, or even the wilderness of Canada. The rest of their citizens live in a veritable hell. The British government was heavily in debt, and their soldiers were restless with impossible conditions and lowered morale after years of fighting in trenches and giving away their lives only to find themselves evicted from their homes. From this scum, a new movement was born. Stylizing themselves as the "New Cromwells" the Republican movement took up resistance in the underground working behind the scenes. A lack of faith in the government combined with major civil unrest left the governemnt helpless in the Food Riots of 1919 to do naught but respond with force. With what little of an army they had left the British government ordered troops to fire on rioting citizens and disperse the crowd. The slaughter led to the movement gaining major traction and in the London Revolt of 1919, over 2,000 armed dissadents stormed government facilites in and around London with the support of a radical wing of the armed forces. It was a losing battle and after a mere week of resistance the government capitulated and the King George V (now mockingly stylized George the Consul) fled into exile with the rest of the royal family, some trust advisors, a few soldiers, and what wealth they could gather to Canada. There they would set up an extremely unpopular, but tolerated, government in-exile amongst their previous subjects. It is now 1920 and a Parlimentary Republic has been established in the former United Kingdom on the British Isles. Only God know's what lies in store for this new country.
