Masterball does not seem to work.

It does. I used it not too long ago to do some tests and copied it right from here. Make sure you're copying from "cheat" to the end of the line (it ends with a 0). Furthermore, make sure you can use cheats at all. Depending on your server you might need to enable them first. If you're in single player, you won't have this limitation, or if you're a server admin.

For anyone thinking the codes aren't working, I just did them and they are. The game just doesn't say it added it to your inventory. Wasn't until I opened inv that I realized they were there.
