On the question of adding it, I do want to do a lot with Poland because of its large states (similar to some of the work done in Germany), and when I do, that region will likely be added.
Other parts of Poland I can recall definitely need changing:
- Krakow, to allow for Victorian-era borders where Austria doesnt have the city, but it has the rest of that state.
- Grodno, to allow for proper modern borders with Belarus.
- Probably somewhere around Poznan to help with preWW1 borders with Germany, but Im not 100% sure how that looked, really.
Well, id have to research what those original plans are, unless thats the East Bank and Gaza Strip. If so, then the current province map doesnt allow for those areas and I am hesitant to start modifying that yet. I do want some level of subdivision for this region though, but the situation can make it difficult.
The German-Polish borders before ww1 was largely just Poznan and Danzig states. You should add Katowitz/Katowice state for more realism.
South Schleswig: Well it does exist already as two provinces on either side of that border (north and south), with the original Schleswig-Holstein German state remaining. I have yet to rename it to just Holstein, needing a little research to see where the proper historic border between those two regions is.
Katowice: Ive been speaking to a Polish native about a few more changes there and Katowice will be split off to allow better preWW1 borders. Some other Polish changes will be revealed when theyre actually done and released.
What about Gallia/Gaul?
Well, being 2000 years old means that I havent given it any thought, nor am I planning to do so even after suggestion. Brittany maybe, due to its exclusion from the French state in more recent history than other parts and that many Bretons still speak their Celtic language today. Ill probably add it when I add the Isle of Man as a releaseable nation.
Also, not sure why Wales possibly could do so.. except being Celtic, but why not the Scottish and Irish too?
Formable nations dont really exist in HOI4. At best you have cosmetic tags which arent really changing tags, but changing the name, adjective, flag, and I believe map color (somehow). Releasable ones do exist though, and thats the implementation I will most be dealing with.
