We already cut our community in half once, I certainly don't want a quarter of a cake and I don't see who else would either
I want to make a server coop with this mod but the information that there is does not facilitate things. I am not an expert in configuring a server in Insurgency, I have followed all the steps that explain and my server only appears in multiplayer and I want it to be coop, I have modified options and I do not get what I want. My server appears missing some textures or objects that appear as an error within the map. When playing on other servers I am attacked by invisible enemies. I have tried a whole day to try to make a server coop without errors and I have not got it. In "Day of Infamy Born to Kill" I have not seen invisible enemies, texture problems, objects and bots that have no animation when they fire. Why "Day of Infamy Born to Kill" has more players than "Insurgency Born to Kill" if Insurgency has twice as many players as Day of Infamy?
Insurgency Born to Kill is abandoned by developers?
I want to know if the mistakes I mention only happen to me or am I speaking for all of you too?
Insurgency theatre system is broken beyond belief - T pose model animations all the time, we had severe issues with the first person animations but we did managed to fix them. And this isn't an issue we alone experience - even the DOI mod for INS has the same issues. Since day one of releasing the mod for Insurgency we had a persistent response from players that they wanted to see the mod ported to DOI - for new features available such as flamerthrowers and support. Furthermore, support for INS ended last year, with NWI now focussing only on DOI and INS: Sandstorm, it seemed logical to move to a game that not only did have developer support, but that also wasn't broken for every mod and had new features which the mod's playerbase had requested from day one.
Why haven't we updated INS BTK - effort, we patched up severe animation issues caused by a change of INS' animation calculations, yet issues with T model poses still persist, like I said, even in the DOI mod for INS. If NWI doesn't even fix their old mods, why should such a small mod team like ours be hampered with doing above and beyond what even NWI is concerned with. It's ridiculous - especially so when you consider that no multiplayer server for INS BTK have operated for roughly two months - whereas most nights we will have players on the DOI BTK servers - doesn't it make a lot more sense to support the version of the mod that is - better (with new features) actually has multiplayer servers running (and therefore more players who actually play the mod - not just players who play the base game) and isn't broken?
It seems logical to conclude - yes
And that was the decision we made
I can't help you with server issues but I'm sure there are other members of the team with experience in that field.
