I had the same question. If its not a bug, how can I change it so it requires the usual ingredients?

Just be happy yours is still working. My Doed and Anky both mess up. I have tried the normal versions and the No Auto Craft versions and both glitch out. I can't access their inventory or anything.

Here are some tips to try:
Take the sadle off, put it back on and try again.
Take off the sadle, unclaim it, and claim it and try again.
Take off the sadle, unclaim it, leave tribe, claim it and try again.
Upload it to an obelisk and download it again.

I don't really believe the sadle thing, but just try it its easy enough. Especially the uploading and unclaim+leaving tribe seems to be reported as fixes for glitched dinos.

Yeah I tried all that. Can't take the saddle off cause i cant access their inventory. The only fix I have found it to upload and download them. So its just a minor thing, just have to make sure i keep them empty so as not to lose anything when they glitch out.

In the mean time, we still need red crystals but devs don't seem to want to reply or fix it.

We all have jobs and lives and we dont get paid to be here, sorry to break it to yah...

BUT!

We have no idea why inventories are being broken (most likely not by us), We cant recreate it nor have our personal private servers have these issues... uploading and downloading from an obelisk will reset the actor..

The red crystals are meant to be an alternative not a primary source, you can change it if you want,

I am sorry, I don't usually make sneers like that and I'm typically quite appreciative of the work people put into making things like this ... in their free time! I must have had a bad moment and let it get the better of me!

np, appreciate the apology.. most of us devs have family's and tedious jobs while coding for a hobby or 'fun' ... currently we have one dev down due to life's favor.. another broke some bones and cant sit up straight.. and the other 2 are just super busy all around atm, and i found some spare time =/...
